Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has launched its online-based ‘Cash Incentive Automation System’ to make application procedures faster, simpler, transparent and more convenient for garment factories. This system will enable members of BGMEA to submit their applications online for cash incentives provided by the government. This will give a major boost to small and medium garment manufacturers who are either unaware or due to complexity unable to get govt. cash incentive.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan inaugurated the Cash Incentive Automation System on Saturday 28 May 2022. He later expressed that the world is going through a digital revolution where adapting to the changing trends with the available technologies is a must to remain competitive in the global market.
Furthermore, BGMEA has already digitized a number of its services for the members, including Workers’ Biometric Database, UD automation, Cash Incentive Automation System, and Membership Management System to ensure quick, efficient and smooth services to all member factories.
This major push toward the digitisation of BGMEA facilities is in line with the Government vision of Digital Bangladesh. BGMEA has also won two awards for ‘Biometric Identity and Worker Information Management System’. One award was for the "WITSA Global ICT Excellence Awards" in the Sustainable Growth/Circular Economy Award category WITSA. Another award was “Digital Bangladesh Award 2021”.
Digital databases and online-based applications remove hurdles faced by factories going for cash incentives. This facility will also make sure that the cash incentives process is transparent.
