The government of Bangladesh is undertaking a major project worth TK 2,541 crore. This project, called Enhancing Digital Government and Economy, aims to establish a cloud-based infostructure and software platform to develop and expand Bangladesh’s digital economy. This project will start from the beginning of next year and will continue till 2026. One of the goals of this project is to develop skilled IT manpower for the expanding digital economy. This project will lead to the employment of 1 lakh youths after training. Furthermore, this project will increase investment efficiency and sustainability in the IT sector. 

Moreover, one of the goals of this project is to enhance the digital government set up an online digital cloud platform to store data of government and non-government agencies.

Investment prospects

The per capita income of Bangladesh will cross $3,000 within the next five years according to Japan Ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki. Bangladesh’s exports to Japan grew 13.4% compared to the same period last year. Currently, more than 300 Japanese companies are investing in Bangladesh.

The trade relation between Japan and Bangladesh is now at a unique height with a trading volume of $3 billion while export to Japan is $1.2 billion and import from Japan is $1.8 billion.
